Svensk Sommar

Record Label

Since 2017, me and fellow rapper Juvel Christensen have been running the independent music label and art collective Svensk Sommar together. Originally being an output for random stuff we made, it slowly grew to something bigger.

Relying heavily on word of mouth and very scarce social media presence, we have gained a bit of a cult following. Most releases are made on cassette tape along with very limited edition merchandise.

Label Nights

We do, on occasion, arrange label nights at the venue Under Bron. We book both dj:s and live acts, mostly from within the group of people who we release music from or collaborate with.

We also curated live music for the author Kristoffer Cras's release party for his book "Om en pappa och en son" (Miders 2016).

As the label manager and press contact for Svensk Sommar, I have led several projects managing administrative tasks like mastering, distribution, PR and launch events. Since it's a very small operation, I have been doing a lot of these things simultaneously wich has given me a fair amount of firsthand experience with stress. Timelines and deadlines are not distant concepts to me.

The nature of Svensk Sommar is organic and very DIY, simply driven by the urge to create beautiful things. Leading projects within that environment calls for the need to motivate and inspire as well as understanding other people's drives and viewpoints. I believe that I have learned some very valuable people skills doing this.
